One of the greatest joys of living in the Sonoran Desert is seeing a Family of Gambels’ Quail out for their morning stroll. Sometimes groups of twenty or so cross our path. “Sacred Quail” was inspired by these encounters. The quail appear against a background where a prickly pear cactus and mesquite branch are rendered in the simple elegance of a Japanese wood block print.
